Ed. TSUWAKI
Tsuwaki was born in Hiroshima but now lives in Tokyo. He developed
his current style in 1994 when he started using the computer
for illustration. His smooth, elongated figures are wide-eyed
and knowing, with a touch of the extraterrestrial about them.
"Illustrating," says Tsuwaki," is like giving
birth to the other self in me. "

FRANK KOZIK
Kozik does for '90s pop-art what Warhol and Lichtenstein
did for that of the '60s. Though he started making fliers for
punk bands in Austin, Kozik is now the exalted ruler of the
poster-art movement. He developed a style that is the visual
manifestation of the dark sarcasm that permeated the mentalities
of the youth culture associated with the music his posters advertised.
In Kozik's work, wholesome icons are stripped of their societal
sanctity; they are in the sharpest defiance of the conservative,
family values-preaching set, a quality that enhances his identification
with a cynical constituency. As a result, Kozik is the darling
of some of the biggest rock acts of the past decade, designing
cover art and concert posters for such household names as Nirvana,
the Beastie Boys, and Sonic Youth. Kozik has done advertisement
work for Slim Jim, Taco Bell, MTV.

GLENN BARR
Quite possibly the missing link between, "Big Daddy" Roth and
Thomas Hart-Benton. Barr is a first class illustrator, who happens
to be able to paint like a Flemish master. His work won't provoke
you towards intellectual contemplation, but he just might tickle
your endorphins with voluptuous "baby-dolls", crashing cars
and action, action and more action. Some of Barr's clients include
SPUMCO, The Cartoon Network and various major CD covers. It
could be argued that perhaps next only to Robert Williams, Barr
just might be his generation's definitive comic art painter.
Paintings - very highly recommended.
